Details: My client, an established multidisciplinary consultancy currently has a requirement for a Project Manager based in London.

My client has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join their fast growing rail team where career defining opportunities are offered. Successful applicants will thrive on being part of a team orientated environment contributing fully on both rail and other infrastructure related projects.

Successful candidates will lead the safe delivery of all aspects of the full project cycle. Ensuring that quality and value for money are met, and keep specifications and agreed targets for cost and time scale and manage a team of less experienced staff.
The post holder will provide professional, first class, consistent and effective project management service to the clients, as well as participating in the development of supply strategies and frame work contracts.


Requirements:
•As a Project Manager you will have a proven track record
within Rail or major infrastructure projects, successful project
management from initial stages through to completion.
•With the ability to co-ordinate design and construction teams,
delivery of outstanding results is central to these roles.
•Have gained extensive experience within either rail or other
infrastructure based sectors.
•Be highly conversant with relevant project management tools
and will possess the ability to lead and motivate teams to
deliver on time, to budget and to a high quality standard.
•Together with a Construction related degree or equivalent.
E.g.: Project / Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
•Be proficient in the preparation and application of relevant
contract form(s) and in the requirements of the current CCDM
Regulations.
•Have sufficient training and experience in the use of SAP, and
the procedures for financial / budget management and
control.
•Knowledge in the use of programming software, and the
procedures for programme / time management and control.


The ideal candidate will relish the opportunity and challenge of being part of a growing team who are closely assisting in the delivery of some of the most prestigious rail and infrastructure projects over the next five to ten years.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Project Managers you will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects under your management, from the agreement of a Project Scope to handover and completion of projects defects period.
Project Managers will be fully accountable for the approved project budget and delivery of project benefits, including:

•Ensuring that contractual requirements are delivered.
•Manage HSQE (Health Safety Quality and Environment)
Contractor Performance.
•Meet schedule, cost and quality requirements.
•Manage Contractor performance on site.
•Management of data and documentation throughout the
project life ultimately leading to archive documentation close-
out (handover).
•Direct responsibility for a Project Budget.
•Responsible for coordinating, motivating, directing and skill
development of a team of direct reports, to ensure that all
safety, quality, cost and programme targets are met to ensure
compliance with policies and procedures.
•Fulfil the role of Planning Supervisor under the CDM
regulations on behalf of client if appropriate for the specified
Project.

The Individual:

•Will have a high level of communication / interpersonal skills
with the ability to lead, communicate and negotiate effectively
with employees, internal and external clients.
•Drive and commitment to achieve project objectives and be
an ambassador for my client.
The ability to take Financial responsibility for a project is essential as well as, a high level of numeracy and analytical ability, extensive experience of the financial control of projects and knowledge of critical path programme analysis applicable to large projects.
•Must be able to work with the minimum supervision in
undertaking major projects and have the appropriate
technical ability to act in this manner.
•Have the awareness and specialist knowledge to ensure
safety in the Railway environment. Methodical approach to
work with attention to detail.
•MIS use / software packages to be used:
•Operational knowledge of Microsoft, Word, Excel,
PowerPoint. Working knowledge of planning tools (I e
MICROSOFT Project and Primavera).
