| Details: | My client one of UK's largest and most diverse multidisciplinary consultancies currently has a urgent position for a Commercial Manager to work on a new Aviation project. The position is based in London but candidate will be required to spend 13 months overseas, starting from September 2009. Job Description: This exciting position is be working on a new Aviation project based overseas. Where accommodation and expenses will be covered. The project is supervision of a 590 million dinar upgrade of a airport. My client is looking for a Senior Commercial Manager who demonstrates an aptitude for taking responsibility for delivering projects as well as being a key contact for their clients. There is an open culture within the team and would expect successful candidates to be able to work on their own and also to report to Directors on projects. As Commercial Manager you will be required to> •Have extensive experience with a recognised professional qualification and degree or equivalent. •Be a member of the MRISC. •Have knowledge of industry conditions of contract and be experienced in negotiations and the resolution of construction contract disputes. •Sound knowledge and experience of commercial contract management within the Aviation sector. (Experience in utilities or other infrastructure sectors is desirable.) •Technically experienced in most aspects off your profession and have an understanding of the requirements for assessing and managing risk. •The ability to manage and develop a team in order to meet client’s deliverables. •Good communication skills both written and oral. •Experience of managing and successfully concluding contractor’s accounts. Responsibilities for this position include> •Key responsibility is for the successful pro-active commercial management of contracts (works or services). •You will be required to accurately manage and report on contracts including explanations of all variances, forecasts, budget matters, change control, disputes and the like. •Where appropriate the successful candidate would be expected to assist in the management, reporting and business development of the team in order to contribute to the team’s business plan and agreed targets.
